For sale is a package with the first 63 issues of Bonsai Today magazine. As the publisher described it, Bonsai Today was “the foremost English language bonsai magazine. With contributions from Masahiko Kimura “the Magician” and other contemporary bonsai masters. Every issue contains clear, insightful instruction from the renowned Japanese magazine Kin Dai and western commentary on indoor and tropical bonsai. Bonsai Today is truly an invaluable resource for the bonsai enthusiast.”
Bonsai Today was most people’s first introduction to Masahiko Kimura and the early issues show the development of many of his most famous creations. Bonsai Today was sold a few years ago to the wonderful creators of Bonsai Focus magazine and continues in spirit in the english language version of that publication.
Many of the back issues are hard to find. Only a handful are available from the original publisher, Stone Lantern. The beginning of the run is very rare as are some individual issues included in this package.
All proceeds go to supporting the Yama Ki Bonsai Society, one of the oldest bonsai clubs on the East Coast. Our mission is to promote the art of bonsai in the New York metropolitan area and around the world.
