You only find Rocky Mountain junipers with curly trunks once in a blue moon, and this one is a beauty! The bend in the trunk as it rises from the craggy weathered deadwood, however, is not natural - originally it was ramrod straight! It took three years and some risky surgery to get the inch-thick trunk to bend.

The wire is now off the trunk, but still on the branches, which have developed well, and are now ready for refinement. Potted spring 2006.
