Ponderosa pine (Pinus ponderosa)

I was attracted to this yamadori pine because of its seemingly impossible tangled mass of branches and extremely un-bonsai like form. I like a challenge, and I've always liked to work with the bizarre rather than the conventional.

When Marco Invernizzi visited in October, he took one look at this tree and immediately declared "This is a Colin tree!" I took it as a compliment.
