Stump collected in 1987
40cm high - 42cm wide
Pot: Tokoname

I discovered this stump at the edge of some allotment gardens. The hollows resulted from wounds caused by the gardeners' annual bean-pole raids. Originally there was a four metre tall stem growing from the top rear of the main trunk. The final image was planned from the beginning. All new growth was allowed total freedom for several years, then cut hard back to form the bases of the main limbs.
