The seed came from a seedling I planted in my father's garden when I was seven years old! At one stage the roots began to rot due to daily drying and soaking in a too-shallow pot, so the trunk was layered and the tree is now growing on a new set of healthy roots. The bark texture is a result of the "sphagnum wrap" technique.
